Big Boy Bed Update

Well, at least falling asleep was easy...staying asleep was a different story.

Hoss has always been a kid who will wake up in the middle of the night, play for a little while and then go back to sleep. Now that we are attempting the "Big Boy Bed" and he is able to get up and wander around, playing is a lot more fun.

However, last night he didn't play, he cried. It first began at 1:30 a.m. I got up, went into his room and laid down beside his bed. He was ready to play, but I made it known it was not time for playing, but for sleeping. I think my snoring when I would drift off and on in and out of sleep helped him figure that out.

At 2:30 a.m. I decided to go back to bed. Ok, really I woke up and realized Hoss was asleep and I went to bed.

At 3:30 a.m. the crying began again. At this point I was too tired to help him go back to sleep so I just put him in bed with me. At 4:30 a.m. he fell off my bed, which scared me to death, but he kept sleeping. I am not kidding...he never woke up. At first I thought he was knocked out, but I think he just kept sleeping. He is a lot like me, a very solid sleeper...when he does sleep.

We are venturing into some unchartered waters.

I hope he is sleeping tonight!

He'll get used to it, but you have to stick to your guns! Unless you're okay with him ending up in bed with you. I love it, but can't get any sleep, so it doesn't happen because we know what that's like at work the next day!!

Sending prayers your way!!

We're learning how to feed ourselves with a spoon over here. Who would have thought that such simple things as eating with spoons and sleeping in beds would be wrought with such discomfort??
