All it takes is a stick

The weather has been absolutely delightful here during the past few days. And we have enjoyed it.

Yesterday I took Hoss on a wagon ride around the neighborhood. Then we returned home and played with bubbles and sidewalk chalk. Tonight Donnie and Hoss played outside on the slide and with a kickball.

Despite all the lovely toys Hoss will always find a stick and can play with it for hours. He will hit the ground, smack two sticks together, try to touch the trees with the stick, hit rocks, and just wave the stick in the air.

It's amazing how little it takes to entertain the child.

I can't wait for warm weather to be here permanently!

I love how lil boys are so low maintenance in the outside entertainment area :) Last night Mikey had fun looking for 'gopher and racoon' holes and following deer footprints at boyscouts!

I don't think I've ever known you to loose your keys. ever. And definitly I've never known you to think that you've left them in 1 of 3 states before !!*wink-wink*

Sticks are the BEST.

Now that Lance is a little older, he doesn't enjoy just sitting in the stroller while I get my daily walk. I've found that if I give him a stick or a leaf he will sit quietly in his stroller examining it.

My little scientist.

His favorite experiment is to reach down with the stick, drag it on the ground, and listen to the sound it makes as the stroller goes over different terrains: the sidewalk, the road, the walkway in the park. He especially likes to make hypotheses regarding the effect of a shadow on a stick in motion.
